Recharging energy in the sea of Acapulco

There are moments in life that mark a before and an after. For 30 women patients of FUCAM, this occasion came by the sea, thanks to the Royal Holiday Foundation and its Vacations For All Project, who took them to live a few days of rest and transformation in Park Royal Beach Acapulco.

“Thank you very much for this gift, it helped us a lot to strengthen our self-esteem. Thank you all and Royal Holiday Foundation for such a beautiful work…” Claudia, beneficiary of FUCAM.

Some of these cancer survivors, who had never seen the ocean before, experienced it for the first time with their feet in the sand, the sun on their skin, and their souls open. For a few days, they enjoyed the pool, felt the sea breeze, and were pampered with a facial massage. They also participated in activities like aqua aerobics, stretching sessions by the sea, and an emotional closing party to celebrate life.

“It was beautiful, the trip helped me a lot in my treatment. I am very grateful for giving me the opportunity to get to know the sea for the first time. A thousand thanks to Royal Holiday Foundation.” Ana, beneficiary of FUCAM.

The daily meditations on the beach were very significant and positive for them. First, each of us drew their favorite flower, recognizing in it the qualities that define them. Then, in the main meditation, guided by the deep sound of the quartz bowls, they  visualized themselves as flowers: Fragile and tenacious at the same time, ready to bloom. At the end of the ritual in front of the sea, these beautiful women symbolically dropped their flowers in the water, letting go with them fear, pain and fatigue. This act not only gave them hope and energy back, but also allowed them to feel more alive and valuable. In addition, that surrounding themselves with women in similar processes allowed them to create a genuine support network.

Undoubtedly, this journey will flourish forever in their hearts.
