A memorable camp!
The 76 girls, boys and their families who are beneficiaries of Comedores Sta. María from a marginalized community of Ajusco, in Mexico City, lived their first vacation at the Camohmila-YMCA camp in Tepoztlán, Morelos.
They practiced successful water activities, some learned to swim for the first time. They played and sang for 3 days, this latter activity helped foster integration and a sense of community.
The children and their families strengthened their bonds during this time and learned the importance of cooperation. One of the most memorable moments was the bonfire at night, activity during which they roasted marshmallows and sang songs, creating an atmosphere of union and joy.
This camp represented a valuable opportunity for the children to spend quality time with their families, as these moments of relaxation and connection are difficult to achieve due to the conditions they live under.
