A sea of hope

The waves of Ixtapa, Zihuatanejo were the ideal setting to provide a memorable vacation experience to 12 children and adolescents with cancer, beneficiaries of Casa de la Amistad. For 4 days, young people and their families stayed at the Park Royal Beach Ixtapa hotel. From the first moment, excitement filled the atmosphere. For some, it was their first time seeing the sea; for others, the dream of flying on a plane finally came true. Upon arrival, the hotel staff welcomed them with applause and smiles, a gesture that illuminated their hearts.

“Thank you for this beautiful experience you shared with all our children, especially my daughter and me. It was a very beautiful experience that we will never forget.”

During their stay, they dived in the pool, had the most fun at the foam party, built sand castles and enjoyed delicious food. The nights were filled with music and dance, as the hotel held a night show where the beneficiaries and their families danced and sang along with a theater show.

“I liked staying on the beach until sundown.”

All this was thanks to the Royal Holiday Foundation’s Vacations for All project and Casa de la Amistad for children with cancer, which has been a beacon of hope for those facing an immense battle against cancer since 1990. This journey was a pause to breathe, an instant of pure happiness, and an embrace of strength to continue their journey. Today, the hearts of these children and young people beat harder because hope shines brighter when shared, and the love they experienced in every wave and every smile will remind them that they are not alone.
