There are adventures that begin within ourselves, when we decide to listen to the call to be better and to transform the world around us. Under this inspiration, the Royal Holiday Foundation, in partnership with APAC, organized the conference with the cause Your Hero’s Journey”, given by writer and speaker Gaby Vargas.

On October 28, nearly 600 people participated in this meeting full of reflection and hope. Based on the concept of “Your Hero’s Journey” by Joseph Campbell, the talk invited attendees to recognize themselves as the heroes of their own story to dare to go out into the unknown: the adventure of growing, healing and returning transformed.

“Awesome, very motivational. I take away overcoming my own inner dragons.” Conference participant

However, the most special thing about this day was its purpose, since all the proceeds went to make a dream come true: to bring 60 people with cerebral palsy and 60 APAC volunteers to the sea. A trip that will undoubtedly mark their lives, as it will allow them to reconnect with nature and remember that limits can be transformed into new forms of freedom and independence.

“It was incredible. It makes you reflect on life, not stay in our comfort zone.” Conference participant

At the end, Paola González Vargas, president of Royal Holiday Foundation, expressed her gratitude to Gaby Vargas and all the attendees for joining this initiative, which shows that when efforts are combined, it is possible to transform lives. In addition, Magdalena Carral, Undersecretary of the APAC Board of Trustees, and Guadalupe Maldonado, CEO of APAC, presented Gaby Vargas with a painting made by Ashley, a young beneficiary of the institution, as a token of recognition and gratitude.

Royal Holiday Foundation deeply thanks APAC, MVS Radio, Papalote Children’s Museum, Terrawind, RCI, Seguros Atlas, Grupo Gerizim, Ambrosía and Royal Holiday’s Human Resources staff for their invaluable collaboration. Thanks to this alliance of efforts, it was possible to hold an event that reflects the power of solidarity.

Because every hero has their own journey, and this one has only just begun.
