Sea of smiles

The Riviera Maya was the scene that saw the birth of 59 smiles of APAC beneficiaries with cerebral palsy who, accompanied by 60 volunteers, lived an unforgettable camp. For five days, each moment was transformed into an opportunity to reinforce their autonomy, independence, live together and enjoy with a joy that illuminated every step of the way.

This was made possible by the partnership between the Royal Holiday Foundation and APAC, which previously carried out outstanding fundraising efforts through a Conference with Cause given by renowned Mexican writer Gaby Vargas.

“It has been one of the best experiences of my life, I was able to learn a lot from Sebastián. Living with him changed me and opened my eyes to a much more inclusive and human perspective.” David, APAC volunteer

Throughout the camp they explored XCARET Park, visited the aquarium, played on the beach and in the evening, marveled at the show “Xcaret Mexico Espectacular”. This camp, much more than a recreational program, is a place for meeting, building trust, and growing that has accompanied people with cerebral palsy on their journey toward a fuller and more dignified life.

“Unique experience with extraordinary places, people and landscapes, full of learning and experiences with people who teach us more than we can teach them and help them.” Fernanda, APAC volunteer

The perfect closing came with a catamaran trip to Isla Mujeres, a journey full of music, singing, dancing and smiles that illuminated the sea. Every day left deep traces: new friendships, moments of discovery and the certainty that inclusion transforms any experience into a memory forever.
