“I am deeply grateful to the foundation for providing our children and teenagers with this experience. It allowed them to reflect and see that genuine people exist in the world, giving them strength and social skills for their life projects. It was motivating to see how several of them approached us with their own ideas for the future; this experience restored their hope and initiative.” DIF Neza teacher

At Royal Holiday Foundation, we believe one first experience can change everything. We welcomed 26 kids and teenagers plus 8 caregivers from DIF Neza for a camp adventure at Camohmila Tepoztlán, Morelos.

For a lot of these kids, this trip was packed with “firsts.” And the most magical moment? The pool. For several of them, it wasn’t just their first swim — it was the first time they’d ever seen a real pool up close. Watching them laugh and splash around was a powerful reminder of why safe, fun recreational spaces matter so much for children from marginalized communities.

“I had a great time because of the pool and the bunk beds.” — DIF Neza beneficiary

But there was way more than swimming. Through team-building games, kids learned to trust each other and work together. And as the night wound down, a campfire and a surprise dance party wrapped things up in the best way possible — leaving everyone with memories they’ll carry for years.

Seeing the joy on those faces keep us going. And it’s all possible because of our incredible Royal Holiday members, who show up as true partners in every laugh, every milestone, and every day of pure freedom.
