Feeding the Heart

When human solidarity flourishes, the heart is fed. This was the case with the trip provided by Royal Holiday Foundation and the Vacations for All project to 78 beneficiaries of Comedor Santa María. On this occasion, families from La Araña and Golondrinas dining rooms in marginalized areas of Mexico City were the beneficiaries.

Children, teenagers, moms and grandmothers enjoyed incredible days at Camohmila YMCA Camp in Tepoztlán, Morelos. For some, it was their first time swimming in a pool; but for all, it was an experience that nourished their spirit.
Because Comedor Santa María not only feeds it accompanies. Their work goes beyond meeting a basic need; it sows values that encourage children to believe in themselves and build a better future.

“For me, it was something good and different from everyday life—the chance to connect with my daughter, which I can’t always do for many reasons. I got to know her more and remind her how much I love her.”
Elizabeth, mother of a child beneficiary of Comedor Santa María La Araña

Throughout the camp, families shared moments that strengthened trust and unity: outdoor games, swimming, integration activities and laughter. In the evening, the little ones danced at the disco night and  ate marshmallows at the campfire an instant of magic as simple as it is powerful.

“I learned about nature. What I liked the most was the pool.”
Brayan, beneficiary of Comedor Santa María Golondrinas

These actions gave children and their families a positive experience that left a mark on their hearts.
