Breaking out of routine can also strengthen family bonds. This was the experience of 87 people from a community of waste pickers in the State of Mexico who, thanks to the Royal Holiday Foundation and the Foundation for Education Support (FAE), enjoyed a vacation experience at the YMCA Camohmila Camp.

FAE provides growth opportunities to children living in poverty and marginalization, and encourages them to achieve their dreams through education. These children, accompanied to the Camp by their mothers or fathers, experienced activities that boosted their physical and emotional well-being: they swam in the pool—for many, for the first time—, enjoyed a disco party, and shared a campfire with songs and marshmallows, among many other games…

Every moment was an opportunity to spend time together and create family memories, an experience that left a great mark on each of them.
